Really enjoyed the challenge this month and with some beautiful weather today I was able to get out and the image I wanted. Just a bit of straightening, crop and vignette.

I'm not surprised you're pleased with it. I don't think there's anything I'd change on it tbh.

Brilliant film :) and I'd love to juggle my crystal ball just like that ;-) but given how heavy it is I won't attempt it lol

Very nice shot, however is it a reflection?

Thank you, yes it is a reflection. Why? Do you think it's not?

Very cool - it works well. I had a similar idea, of photographing some kind of reflection in a water droplet :smashin: I may have cropped a little off the bottom but that's just personal preference. Really good shot :)

I thought about doing something along these lines, but thought it is more looking through the glass rather than a reflected image. Please don't get me wrong, it is nice, and works well.

Thanks :) unlike looking direct through flat glass the the image is reflected upside down, which to me by definition makes what I'm seeing a reflection rather than just a view through glass. But it's all individual interpretation.

:) thank you. I had tried with a bit more cropping on the bottom but couldn't decide lol. A water droplet would be very nice too, I had wanted to capture a water droplet for last months still life entry. I did have a go with bubbles but it was too windy lol.

It's a nice shot rockchick, good work!

I think it may be more refraction, if we wanted to get technical about it. I think it fits into the remit of the theme though.

It's a nice idea, but this effect is caused by refraction, as biccies says, the bending of light and is the principle on which the design and construction of lenses is based. :lesson:

Thanks for the comments :) and the science lessons  I did study physics so I do know the technicalities of reflection and refraction. For me personally photography is an art and art is interpretive, so whilst technically we could quibble. To me my piece is a reflection of what I was seeing. ;)

Edit- This also for me covers reflection of my personality, as I am a nature lover who reads a crystal ball :D

Great shot.... but not a reflection in the actual sense.

Funnily enough I set this theme for May last year, and included refractions in the title. As I knew there'd be allot of confusion over them.

    So hey ho :)

There's often some leeway with theme interpretation ;)
