    Really?

Seems a few people have been helping you all morning....

They may not have answered your problem but wouldn't say it was quiet.

There must be some sort of boot record on the 1TB drive you want to remove?

Have you checked out this - section 5 might be worth a try...

How to Fix a PC Which Won't Boot: 7 steps - wikiHow

I think it's one of those problems that is very much, you know how to fix or you don't. I guess the trick is finding someone that has gone through this and sorted the problem for real.

Thanks I'll check out your recommendation, any suggestions for a fix are much appreciated.

    :)

I've added a speculative answer to your main thread.

    Cheers,

Nah I totally know what you mean and sometimes/most of the time GC is the best place to put your questions, however like you have done I think putting them in the correct forum is the best thing to do but you do not always get the hit ratio and foot fall you want or need to sort the problem or question you have.

My point was just that people had been trying and your thread/post you started made it sound like no-one had responded to you, which was not the case.

    Apologies for my pedanticism ;)

Yep, that's the key step for all the other stuff to work. Thanks so much Nigel.

Nonono, sorry for me being so impatient.

    :D

    Glad that worked.

Also this is another demonstartion of the power of GC. Were it not for the GC post I would not have been aware of this problem, because I tend to only visit the other forums when I am looking for something specific.

    Cheers,

    Nigel

The next thing to try (if applicable) is if Steam still works. I recently increased my disk space as follows

    Original drive - 500GB (c: 150GB, d: 350GB)

Added a second 1TB drive, copied D: across, deleted the original D: and expanded the C: drive so I ended up with

    C: - 500GB
    D: - 1TB

All worked fine - I think my active partition must have been on C: so I never encountered your problem.

But although everything else worked fine, Steam would not run.

If you encounter the same problem, let me know as I know how to fix it.
