Itouch wont charge

    Only had ipod touch since xmas now it wont charge through usb lead but it connects and opens itunes so what could be wrong?

    Could be faulty cable - maybe data lines are intact but +5v line is broken. Also worth taking a close look at the dock connector - I saw one recently where the connection pad had peeled off the board and bent back inside the connector. That was on a 5G iPod but same problem - wouldn't charge.

    i couldnt say for definite its not the ipod and not the lead but i bought a cheap lead for my itouch and it did the same, mustve been broken so i replaced it with a better lead and it just worked.

    Ive tried another lead which i know charges another ipod sound but not mine.Tried both through my laptop,could their be something wrong with that?

    You may have let it get too flat. The only way to charge it back up is with a AC adaptor.

    I have had this with my ipod video. Do you have/can you try an adaptor??

    Have you confirmed the usb port has full voltage i.e 5v? I have read on various forums that the touch is touchy (ha ha) on the voltage. I had problems in getting mine to connect/charge full stop on my built in usb 2 ports. I purchased a usb2 pci card and now all works fine.

    I think from memory the available voltage is shown in the windows device manger under usb .

    Hello i am having this problem it has worked fine but now it wont charge at all,
    i have connected it to my pc via usb wont charge, used a mains ac adaptor was for ipod video, also my docking station and it wont charge at all.

    If anyone can help me it would be much appreciated thanks
