    Hi all,

Today in HMV I saw that there was a re-mastered version of this seminal Public Enemy album.

Has anyone bought this and is there any noticeable improvement in sound quality?

Basically, is it worth buying if you already own the album? Was tempted to just get it anyway as it's a definite Desert Island Disc for me.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

    RDB :)

In my experience the difference between recently remastered CDs and the original CD releases (especially from as long ago as this one) are like day and night.

Well worth a dip I'd say.

You're right. I think this album was about 1989ish so should be a noticeable difference. Soundwise it sounds a bit dated compared to more up to date (say Dr Dre) rap albums.

I'll definately buy it. Only left it because it was in the 2 for £10 section and didn't see another obvious album to go with it.

I saw The Jam's 'The Gift' so I think I'll get that (showing my age :suicide: ) which was probably my favourite Jam album anyway.

Bought it. Noticeably different from the original (worth a fiver anyway). But, as you say, still not a top notch recording. That's 80s hip hop for you though ;)

    Bring the noise!
