I'm looking at where to put my screen in the new house we are moving to.

Well, the window opposite the main seating area happens to be 16:9(!) and I was considering a blackout blind for there anyway. So can I just get a big bugger blackout blind (about 230cm x 130cm) and paint the bit outside the screen black? Any issues with it rolling up?

Still need to play with sizes and projector distances, and the bottom of the screen might be a bit low, but its looking good if I can use a roller blind. Nice and discreet too (high WAF!)

Richard, there have been several discussions here about the feasibility of painting roller-blinds. Try a search with "blind paint PVA" as keywords.
