Issues with momentary black picture with Freesat 4K box

Hi guys.

This is my first post :)

I currently have a Samsung UE40MU6400 UHD TV, along with a Freesat 4K 1TB box.

If I have the Freesat picture resolution set to 4K, I occassionally get a blank picture as if it is changing resolution or something.

If I change the setting to 1080, I don't have any problems.

Before I moved to Freesat, I had Sky Q and did have this issue once a week or so, but it happens every few minutes with Freesat!!

I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue, and if there is a resolution??

Best regards
Chris

First thing to try is a replacement HDMI cable.
I have recently bought new HDMI cables, but it hasn’t helped. Is there a minimum spec needed for Freesat 4k?

the cables I bought were:

4K HDMI Cable 1.8m [2-Pack], Syntech High Speed 18Gbps HDMI 2.0 Cable, [email protected] HDR, 3D, 2160P, 1080P, Ethernet, HDCP 2.2, ARC, Compatible with UHD TV, PS5/PS4/PS3, Xbox

this was happing to mine Until its firmware updated.
Hi.

I managed to resolve this by buying another set of HDMI cables which are marked as "certified".

The cables I bought were Amazon product
So, it looks like the Freesat box prefers the certified cables over anything else.

Hope this helps.
