Issues displaying PC through HDMI

Standard Member
I just brought a toshiba 37vx503db. I connected a vga to my monitor and the hdmi using the dongle but no picture just blue screen. If i lower the resolution to 1024 i get part of the picture on the screen. Is there a problem with my graphics card.

BTW on boot up, the startup screen is full screen on the TV until it reaches vista then "error".

Graphics card is a ATI HD4850

I recently connected my pc to my tv as a 2nd monitor using a 10m HDMI cable.

It took me a little while to figure out I had to adjust the refresh rate to suit the telly before I could get a picture. Try that.

Found the problem. After fiddling with everything, refresh rates, screen size etc. Changing the ports on the vga cards solved the problem. It was that simple. *sigh*
