Heya, our BEKO Frost Free Fridge Freezer is having a few issues with over cooling in the fridge department and the top half of the fridge at the back is icing up and there is frost buildup on it.

Even at minimum and with a thermometer in the fridge its getting as low as -1 or -2, the freezer part is still fine as far as we can tell.

I shut the fridge off earlier and emptied it and cleared it all including the buildup at the back before putting everything back in but less than 3 hours later a thin sheet of ice is forming at the back and its going to build up like before.

Anybody had this issue and can give some insight, the hole thing is clear that is supposed to be kept clear and we have had this quite a few years.

Is it on its way out or is it going to be cheap to fix ?

Check to see the drain hole at the back of the fridge isn't blocked, seem to remember having issues with ours and this was the cause.

Nope, all clear. I had everything out and cleaned the inside dry. Just waiting to see if the fridge goes below 0c again.

If you've checked that the door is sealing correctly (as mentioned in that link from croc) then it sounds like a thermostat/sensor fault.

Have you tried turning the dial the other way. A lot of fridges have numbers on the dial but I don't think there is a standard for which way is colder. You say you've turned it to minimum, have you tried turning it to maximum?

When I turn it between 1 and 2 it hit -9c, door appears to be shutting properly.

We have had it for at least half a decade now and I am surprised it has lasted this long the way my mum shuts it, nearly every time she shuts the fridge door it rocks back and forth.

Whole unit seems to be quite cold now so I think something may be broke inside. Myself and my dad are going to look for a new one tomorrow.

Apparently according to Currys records we purchased our current one March 11 2008.

    Edit
Dad just whipped out some chicken from the fridge in sealed packet and it was frozen lol

It was near the bottom but still, good thing our new one comes Monday.
