I have a pair of Mission M71 speakers that sit on an office desk. I know I should be using stands on wall mounting, but I just don't have the space. At the moment they are directly on the desk. Should I place anything under the speakers to isolate from the desk itself? If so, can anyone anyone give me some cheap ideas.

Yes, blu-tack, or cut some squash balls in half and sit the speakers on them.
