    Hicksy,

    The iScan Ultra is a deinterlacer. Interlaced inputs (S-video, component or composite) are converted to progressive scan and output over component or DVI. It also includes a circuit that eliminates the chroma bug. The kit was good in its day, is relatively cheap but there are much better deinterlacers / scalers now available albeit at significantly higher cost.
