Hi All,

just got my “upgrade” to sky q 4k to compliment my 4k tv.
Connected it to my Yamaha and told the sky box to find 4k.
Yamaha is set to 4k but sky box isn’t changing to 4k.

checked box by using direct hdmi to tv and it works fine.

which leads me to the amp......

Anybody had experiences of this?

thanks in advance

dan

I think my 683 was set to 4k processing by default
Looks like you have similar menus, have you checked the yam set up is correct.
P105 of the manual

The Yamaha RXV777 was launched at a time when there was a lot of talk about 4K becoming a thing, but prior to any real standards for it being set, as such the receiver isn't HDCP 2.2 compliant and cannot therefore passthrough or handle any commercial UHD encoded content protected by HDCP 2.2. Almost all commercial UHD content uses HDCP 2.2 or highrter and most UHD sources will refuse to output 4K if the device they are connected to lacks at least HDCP 2.2 compliance.

Because of its lack of HDCP version 2.2 compliance, its 4K rated abilities are basically useless.

You'd need at least the subsequent Yamaha RXV779 model if wanting HDCP 2.2 compliance.
