I have started to build my HTPC and before buying the real hardware ( mobo etc ) I would like to see if anybody has any comments about the parts. All the parts are build around my budget. I want to use this for playing HD movies and tv series, both from dvd's aswell as from files on the hhd. Thinking of ripping the dvds to the harddrives to save loading the discs. Any thoughts on this, not the best way to playback ?

I would go for an Intel CPU and overclock it to save some cash.

Definately go for an intel cpu.. Unless of course you already own some of the components.
