I'd go with the canon 70-200 f4 IS L for the same money (if you search), you loose a stop of light but the IS and speed/accuracy of focus is great. I love mine.

Tricky one, the 50-150mm is a little sharper I believe, wider focal length at the wide end.. that's more useful for a wedding say or other social event. It's a little cheaper ( I'd buy from here if I was getting one - Camera Lenses :: Sigma :: Canon Mount :: Sigma 50-150mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM Lens for Canon - Onestop Digital )

On the other hand it's heavy, same as the 70-200mm (same casing), the 70-200mm is fair bit longer at 200mm and crucially can be used on a full frame camera if you ever upgrade.

If you don't need f2.8 then the Canon 70-200mm F4 L IS is definitely worth a look as well, better build quality and faster more accurate AF + a lot lighter.

The sigma has f2.8 but the canon has more reach?
