I am about to purchase a Limit 9900se DVD player, using it's Pro scan output. I want to plug this into a 'JS' VGA to Plasma converter box and then into my Plasmas (15Pin) VGA socket.

Does this sound right to get the best possible picture, or does the Sony plasma already take care of scan conversions? I am getting a bit confused???

Am using a Sony PFM42B2 plasma. Thanks in advance!:(

Johns boxes are designed to take RGB in from scart in interlaaced form so I don't think this is going to help you. Plasma's do de-interlacing on board already so you need to do a dem to see whether the de-interlacing of player is actually better than that inside plasma.
