Hi, I currently have an Denon DHT550 AMP with 6.1 speakers. Whilst it is a good little system and better than what i have been used to in the past, I was looking at upgrading to something like the Onkyo 605. With budget being an issue I wanted to know if it is worth upgrading the AMP if I plane to use the denon speakers and sub i currently have??
(dont have the £ or room for new speakers and Mrs wouldnt be happy either
).
The spec for the speakers are as follows (taken from a denon pdf)
Centre Speaker:
Type..............................2-Way 3Speakers (P.P.D.D) Sysytem
Frequency Range..............120Hz~90Khz
Impedance......................6 ohms
Sattelite Speakers:
As Above
Sub-Woofer:
Type.......................1-Way 1 Speaker (Active)
Power Output............100W
And if it is worth upgrading then would the Onkyo605 be a good match or are there any better receivers out at the same sort of price range that also support DTSMA/DD TrueHD with HDMI 1.3a & Component switchng?
Any help is appreciated!
EDIT:
Managed to get this more comprehensive info on the speakers from Denon's Website
