Is this a common lcd trait? (samsung lcd)

I've noticed on my Samsung LE32R74BDX set that occasionally the screens brightness will dip and then readjust itself. It is a bit annoying. It happens at no set interval but usually a few times in between programs. I noticed when i was assembling it (this is my second one, the first arrived scratched!) that something clunked about inside when it was turned top to bottom.

Is there a setting I've missed somewhere? Or is the lcd sharper than the ol crt and its this I'm noticing?

If its another problem with the set I will return it and choose a different one

just a stab in the dark but does it have a light sensor to auto-adjust the backlight?
if so try turning that off.

Not from what I've found. I did find a thread just now about a feature called 'dynamic-dimming' that people are turning off. I've just did it so I'll report my findings when I get a good chance to watch again :smashin:

Is it different settings with movie mode or does movie mode just disable the dynamic dimming?

I was all set to return the Samsung for a Sony and pay a bit extra!!

Glad I found out about this now though as its a great looking set.
