Hi, I have just bought my first camcorder, a Canon MV530i. I appreciate that this is a budget camcorder, but when I download video to my computer via Firewire, I notice there is a very small band across the top of the video that is slightly brighter than the rest of the picture. I wonder if anyone could tell me whether this is to be expected and tolerated, or does it indicate a fault with the camcorder or the setup of my computer. I'm using Ulead VideoStudio 8 (a demo version) for editing. Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, I am a total noob.....

    Many thanks

The top few scan lines from a (4:3) capture from my Panasonic Cam are basically garbage and AFAIK this is normal. These lines would normally be cropped when played back to a TV.
