Is there any software out there that, reduces crackle/hiss whatever, when burning old records onto CD, and any idea where you can get it.
Ruby quartz shades.

If I remember correctly, version 5.54 of Nero Burning ROM includes a wave editor that is able to do this. Failing that, many MP3 utilities will be able to reduce the crackles, pops and noises from turntable recording. Removing hiss is slightly more tricky as to remove it well, the high frequency response must be reduced in most cases, thus the recording can lose treble. However, many wave utilities are becoming progressively better at removing hiss from a recording while preserving most of the actual music.

For general trial/demo/free/shareware point your browser to www.download.com this will offer sections for audio and MP3. You should be able to find something there.

    Regards,
