Is there anything that can be done about a stolen console?

My daughters house was burgled last night and the thieving chavs stole her 360. She's reported ity to the police but thats fairly useless these days. Is there any anything that M$ can do about it?

About 3 weeks ago so got it back from M$ after it suffered RROD, therefore M$ have the serial number and i dare say the MAC address. I know that she's not going to get it back but it would be something if we could cause them just a little discomfort.

Any info/advice would gratefully received.

no chance of them doing anything in my opinion, even if they have the serial number there's a legal\technical problem, can you prove its even yours? how can you prove you didn't sell it etc....

If you hope for ms\anyone will do anything at all I really wouldn't.

Other than reporting to the police and claiming on insurance you're buggered m8. Hope you had a large number of games stolen too if you claim...

If you have a credit card linked to the gamertag I'd get that canceled urgently.

Simple way to stop the use of the card. Go to a friends Xbox and migrate the account. As soon as they try to get onto Live, it will say NOOOOOOOOOO! This means that your credit card details will be safe, as they can't get on to buy points etc.....

Just do that as a safety precaution. That should protect your card :)

Or you could just phone MS and get the card details removed.:smashin:

You could do that, but have you tried? They are an absolute nightmare...

Some tell you they can't do it, some will - it's inconsistent at best.

i was quite fortunate. Last year, a patrol car was passing my house and noticed a 32" HDTV and 360 on the drive way, whilst all the lights were out in the house...

Stopped to take a look, and turned out my house was in mid-burglarly.

They didn't catch the sods...luckily they passed by...I still lost £500 cash though which was in the house!!!

Society these days is a lot of tosh :nono::thumbsdow
