Is there an EXIF equivilent for video?

My Panasonic SD700 seems to write a lot of files in a complicated file structure as well as the actual .MTS files. Do any of them hold EXIF style data for the video? Is there an explanation of all these files and what they're for? I don't even know if I ought to be archiving them when I copy the video.

Thanks

Not quite but some brands do have some metadata on raw files which disspears with editing
