Is there a scaler available to improve a Sharp 37" LCD?

Most of the discussions around scalers seem to focus on plasma screens. I have a Sharp LC-37GA4E LCD and at the moment have SKY+ input thru a Scart connection and a Sony 725 DVD player thru the component connection.
My question is can I get any improvement on the image quality by using a scaler? If so, at what kind of price are we talking?

    Cheers

I'm pretty sure I did a demo of a Lumagen DVI on an Aquos for a forum member...He bought the Lumagen. Bit busy right now but I'll try to look out the model and info of whose it was. Pricing for these is available on my website.

Looks interesting, I presume it will output to 1366 x 768 and take the SKY Scart? Will all the inputs then go via DVI to the screen?
I am also interested in anyone who has used a scaler with an Aquos.

Yes you can tie the component and composite inputs together to use as RGBcvS from scart. You loose a composite input doing it but that's not usually an issue. All sources can be transcoded to DVI output, yes. This includes analogue HD or ED sources.

How do I go about checking this out? Unfortunately I am in Devon and would like to see one in action on an Aquos ( preferably my own ) before parting with my hard earned cash. Scalers do not seem to be very common on LCD's, is there a reason for this?

    Cheers
