Ok I,ve been on here for about 3 weeks now.
And all i can see is that there is no perfect plasma out there as yet !!!

I myself have had a good demo on the pdp435dxe and the 42” Panasonic TH-42PE30 VIERA And most of the others too.

The thing is everyone has there own taste on plasma,s , I like the XDE, looks great on the wall and the pic on dvi was good. Also liked the Viera But liked the look of the XDE,

And all i keep hearing is sky looks pants On the DXE, Well i think sky looks pants on all plasma,s

A friend of mine who is also on here has the Samsung one, Witch i did like untill i saw the xde,

Also if your going to buy a plasma go talk to people,

I do i just walk into a shop and say !!! Whats is your best plasma you have ??
And so far its been the Pioneer PDP-435XDE that everyone has been saying is the better screen down here.

So go on go around your shops and ask it does help.

Now this is where i get slatted. lol.

Been in the same situation, i've never seen a Pioneer 435-XDE/HDE/FDE that looked good.

The 505-series i could maybe accept, but they are not good anyway.

Everytime i watch my Panasonic at home and compare it to the Pioneer 505 in the shops my jaw drops, the picture is incredible and i don't even have an external scaler yet.

The Viera Panasonic i would never buy, they are pretty ugly and have limited performance.

In my opinion the perfect plasma doesn't exist and will never do so...they all have their problems or compromises and you just have to decide which you think best suits your criteria/needs.

How you can say the Viera is rubbish is beyond me!
The pq is amazing on digital and even better on Sky+!
I have a 37" in the bedroom, i looked at both the viera and the pioneer and the cost either way did not influence me.
The Viera only lacks the hd input to be at the cutting edge of of the av world, and this is soon to be addressed.
I for one will be buyin one of the new Viera models hd compliant in 50" form
for the lounge as soon as they arrive.
Pioneer great for cartoons,Panasonc for the real world

Maybe the dealers are being told to tell good things about Pioneer so they get their nice bonus checks.

There you go.... you have to spend more money on somthing to make it look better...

Some people havent got the money to go out and spend more on it !!!!!! .

Not saying me as i have a very good job that pays well. :) but for some people who want to go out and get one. spending £2500 on a tv just to find out they have to go and spend more on it...external scaler Just dont make sence to me ???

Dealers are telling people the Pioneer is the most future proof, and they are right!
Try to look in as many shops as you can(I have) and you will find nine out of ten show the pioneer with a dvd, the Panasonic however is generally on Digital broadcast.
    Coincidence?
    Surely not

For every person that gets tribal, and cusses down a piece of kit, there are probably ten people that remain silent, and are more than chuffed with it.

Sometimes, the only way to get an objective answer, is to try and get the kit demo'ed by a reputable dealer, so , in the case of a plasma, let your own eye's do the talking.

And, as far as Dixons or Comets are concerned, they are pretty clued up on toasters, and I bought a nice kettle in Currys a while back.

Check out the new 40 series Fujitsus. The 42" is an ALIS panel and is much of a muchness compared the pio. The 50" uses Panasonic glass and has the best PQ of any plasma Ive ever seen, better than both the Pios and the Panasonic HD units....but it costs.
