Recently received info that the Pioneer 989 has been reduced in price. Suggest it might mean a new model is about to be released? Any ideas? Thanks Dave

Of course it is - I've just bought one!

Seriously, I reckon you could be right.

Thanks Nick (welwynnick) for your reply. As I wrote earlier I had been informed by a local dealership the price had come down by about £150.00 or so. Mmmm I thought that's either great service or a new model in the offing!! The Hi Fi cynic stirs in me when this scenario is presented. However, now that you are the owner of the PIO 989 would appreciate your views of this gear. Cheers. Dave

Well if you look on pages 12 & 13 of the new HCC mag (issue 133), you'll see the new range on display, but (thankfully) the 989 is still there. :smashin:

CINEMAN - very many thanks for the info regarding new PIO models. As it so happens, have just received my copy of HCC!! Very pleased to read that the PIO 989 is still highly rated.

    Cheers Dave
