Looking at buying the above product as a player to link to the bedroom tft screen (reilsys 17" w/s) and also to take away with me when working away and have to stay in hotels.

From what i can see on the web it looks ok, but has anybody had any experiences of the unit? good or bad?

    Cheers

Did you get the Panasonic LS5? I am considering buying and would appreciate any comments from you or anyone else who has this player.

    Cheers. :lease:

I have an LS5, and I think it's great. You can get extended batteries for it (have to shop around, I got mine in the US), and it fits neatly in a CD player bag with a dozen dvds. Don't buy it for hooking up to a bigger tv as the external output is .... poor.

    Thanks Handles9.

I actually went and bought one before I saw your reply. Thank you for taking time to reply.

I am very happy :D with it. I need to buy another battery to tie me over and a car cable.

My main aim now is to make it multi region without having to pay for a remote to zap it! Dont want to pay more money out! :thumbsdow

Have also been trying to find a firmware hack for my DMR-E50 if anyone knows of one!

And finally, as the LS5 is now end of line product I got a very good cheap deal! :D :D :D

I'm currently in the market for one of these, but keep losing out to last min. bidders on ebay.

Would you mind telling me from where and how much you paid for yours ?

    Thanks

No problem. I got mine from Currys at £224. I am aware that Dixons are selling them off, but not at quite that price. They are end of line so get in quick! :D
Downside.....I am still trying to get it hacked for multi-region.

Finally I have got my LS5 zapped by remote to multi region. Total cost for player and mod = £249.

    I am :D

Interestingly I have asked Panasonic for the Service Disks, which may allow me to multi regionalise my recorder also. I will let you all know what happens!

Now.....where are my region 1 disks?
