I have read some posts regarding the 309. And it seems it's the only budget sub (that appeals to me)i can get in my area. I just want a straight up yes or no type answer.

    Thanks a lot, guys!

It's not a simple yes or no answer. It is tight and fast for a budget sub, and is one of the best, but the BK is ever so slightly faster and ever so slightly tighter. Enough to be noticeable.

The MS309 is a great sub though, and will do the job with ease.

As Kaz says, depending on your budget I'd tend to suggest the BK first (see the Budget Sub Test sticky at the top of this forum).

But in answer to your question, the MS309 is very tight and fast for the money. :)

Thanks guys! But BK doesn't seem to be available here in Beijing.

Also the 309 are designed for satelites, I suppose this does not matter if I use it to match my B&W 603's, right?

The 309 was originally designed for the Premiere system but works equally well with full range designs- we have a couple of excellent reviews with the 309 in a full size Avant pack.

Thanks TOF! In fact, the only thing that annoys a bit is its frequency, around 35hz, I know others are more like 25hz, as a layman, my question is: how does this affect its performance? Thanks!

We shoot ourselves in the foot by measuring at +/- 0db. It did better in the tests that john carried out in the budget sub sticky at the top of the sub section.

Got one and use it with full size Accoustic Energy speakers (AE120, AE107, AE109). I think it's a superb unit.
