I've now got my panny set up and very nice it is too on top of it's alphason stand. All the wires are stuffed round the back but also round the back is the JS Tech RGB>VGA converter.

Now i know i maybe paranoid but is this thing safe round the back. I never turn it off because it's hassle and nor do i want to. I leave my ntl box (it keeps locking up now for soem reason so it may be going) and dvd on standby but they are arguably made for this.

I just don't want a fire on my hands overnight. paranoid am i???

My JS box has been on permanently for 14 months now with no problems. Like you, mine is stuffed down the back of my unit with all the cables.

ditto hutters comment and for about the same period of time, or slightly longer - unit sits on top of AV amp - never had a problem with it at all - touch wood :)

Everything is put in standby rather than switched off too

cool, that'll do for me. i probably have far worse fire hazards than that but it's just it looks so simply made (which it isn't i know) that it did start to panic me a little.

now just got to get that extended warranty i forgot to order from av-sales

    thanks again
