It is interesting that in Hungary the SONY-s are in common thought to be really bad in any area - as the price concerned. Is it the standard worldwide or not ?
My local dealer says that the best is the Harman/Kardon and besides that is the others (which too not bad) for example Yamaha,Denon and Onkyo... Not mention Pio. And he says the Sony,Technics, ... are a piece of sh.t (sorry)
    Any thoughts ?

It depends on what criteria you're using to compare the manufacturers. Sound, Vision, Quality, Reliability, Style?

Nobody else in the world has the same interaction between eyes, ears and brain as yourself. You will give a different rating to each of these qualities than I would, your local dealer would, or anybody else would.

So, the short answer is it doesn't matter, it's your own personal preference.

However, it's a well known fact that Sony are the best!!!
