This "review" says nothing about picture, sound or even build quality. What's the point?

Well it doesn't give it the rosiest of progressive scan reports and since I will be using Prog scan, I thought its probably something I should take on-board.

It doesn't even explain what the prog scan weakness is, is it video deinterlacing, film detect, both? It also doesn't explain that the player can output 480i via HDMI so any deficiency with deinterlacing or scaling can be rectified externally.

Have to disagree, secrets review there made perfect sense, and is in line with the demo ive seen of the unit.
and it lists all de-interlacing issues.

Agree with passing 480i interlaced via HDMI but then that becomes a review off a complete system, not a standalone unit.(but they could of mentioned it)
What we realy want is a HDMI version of the 27a. the DV79 is on par with the 868i when used with HDMI, infact i couldnt see a difference IMHO.

Still a bad layer change, why is it only Denon seem to give attention to this area?
