It's been 6 months since my ex ran off with 5 grands worth of my kit, ive enjoyed the promiscouity of a young bachelor, but what do the guys out there think, is single life better?

Depends if you have any morales......

I saw an article in new scientist a while back, and apparently married men live a lot longer than single blokes. Personally, I love being married, and my missus is great. The only bad thing is you can't go after hot pieces of totty when you choose! :(

I was cr@p at meeting women so being married is great especially to someone who likes expensive kit

Just remember it is only a problem if she finds out and you will be fine

Difficult one. I enjoyed the freedom I had when I was single, but that was when I was 34 having been in a relationship since the age of 18

Only lasted a while before I settled down again, but, now..........I love my life, still got my freedom, but have someone to share it with.

Gone for 'Hell No'

Well I,ve been with the same bird for 29 years and would not swap her for anyone even though she gives me grief on a daily basis. Mind you I wouldnt mind a bit of nookie on the side now and again. On second thoughts probably not a good idea

well im hoping either you guys clear your bookmarks or your misses aint got a clue about avforums, or you guys might be single in the morning!! great response guys, im defiantely enjoying single life but theres nothing better than a girl that has the same interests (ie. expensive av equip. as stated above) ill keep searching!

Mmmm very few of those around. Its a predominately male anorak activity

As a newly wed, I've gone for Hell No! But then, my missus is on this forum (Shadowifey), so I'm not gonna say otherwise, now am I? (Only kidding, darling!)

Mind you, if you've seen her in this thread (post #36) , you'll understand why I've no need to look elsewhere :smashin:

I all the men voteing hell no .... are throwing up mental blocks as a coping strategy ;)

" here's a 100 million quid but you have to dump the mrs - go get a series of houses with cleaners / buttlers and cooks to look after you, and you can jet around picking up a different stunner every night in casinos and sw@nky bars ..... or stop in and watch dvd's on your home AV without having to negotiate with anyone "

...... sorry love - pack yer bags

LOve it mate, love it :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have been with the same woman for 10 years. I have a child who is 4 years old with her. She left me for a while a couple of years ago. I missed her for a while but as time went on I found it was the compnay I missed rather than her specificaly( although I did miss my son) six months later she came back.
Its a difficult one to judge. I would definatly have more money if I was single and I think If I didnt alreday have a child perhaps I would be happier. Not having my son around though was hard, and when they both came back things got a little better.
I think that if you have been single for a long time you can get really used to your own company. If you have been in a relationship for a while you can feel really empty if it ends. As humans we have the capacity to adapt to our situations and make the best of them. Any way rambling on a bit here, :D
In conclusion I think I would be happy either way if I did not have children. Now I have a son I think family life is probably best (at the moment anyway :D )
Dave.

dave s i think you hit the nail on the head.

when i broke up with my last g/f (which was a 2 year relationship) it was a really hard time for me post breakup, i felt quite lonely, but as you say its just a case of what your used to. its strange coming home to an empty house, no company or attention. but a few months on and i really look forward to just coming home and putting a HD film on the plasma as loud as i want! it gives me the independence to do anything i want, and for that i am lucky. im also lucky enough to have some nice female company for the weekends as and when i choose. but i would definately be lieing if i said i wasnt looking for that perfect girl.

Both have there advantages and disadvantages but anyone who has truly been in love with another person and has a proper relationship is not going to long for a single life no matter how much they joke about it.

My mrs reads these forums as well and she will back me up allot of people we know both here and in the real world have one-sided relationships where one partner typically the female completely rules the roost and use there mans love for them to dominate them and thoroughly crush the free spirit out of them. Most of my friends can not do a thing without permission from there other half and they don’t dare do something without the perspective partners. If my mrs is at work or at home for that matter and I want to see my friends I see them I don’t have to stop in and watch DVD’s so as she does not miss out.

To many men out there have no balls and need to reassert themselves as an equal partner in there relationships. The bottom line fellas don’t get into a relationship with a girl who is only going to try and change you and use sex as a reward for doing what they want.

It did for me last night

Married life/partner is great IMO, but I guess if things in a relationship are not going well then a single life could be appealing.

how is Liz? :smashin: (PM if you need too)

i love being married, we both have space i get to see my mates and we have the same interests and hobbies so we fit together well. we never argue (well sometimes, but not often). cant imagine her not being in my life after 23 years.
