went out to look at 37" ended up ordering 42" viera plasma. The way my lounge is set up I will be sitting directly in front of screen 12 feet away. I will be watching both sky+ and dvd with rgb connection, do you think picture will look ok or will it look poor sitting that near? my previous viewing was through 36" CRT phillips with a mega picture.I know I probably should have bought 37" but got a good deal and have a good surround set up Arcam+ yamaha and love films on a big screen, acceptable or not? thanks

Don't let anyone tell you size isn't important. Your viewing distance is similar to mine, I have a 42PWD6 and a 8ft projection screen. Neither is too big for us.

viewing my 42 inch from 9.5 ft is perfect ,even closer there isn't an issue.go 42 over 37 or you will regret it

nobody doubts 42 are fine but at closer distances 37 pq is better ,if pq is not an issue why not buy a cheap unbranded 50 and that will be even bigger!

But at 9.5ft this won't be an issue.
