I have a Panasonic NV MX8 which is beginning to fail; in VCR mode it keeps chewing up tapes, making ugly noises, distorting video during playback or just simply not working, telling me "TO SERVICE" or something along those lines. So... I've just been to my local service centre who quoted me about £175 to 'take a look at it'. Having worked in an Apple computer service centre, I know what 'take a look at it' means... more often than not no guarantee it can be fixed! Is it worth it? I don't know how much this camera's worth now, but I purchased it for £790 back in 2003. Cheers guys!
