is it worth waiting for the boxing day sales?

Depends. What are you after?

If bargain/standard set then yes.

If something specialised I.e. Oled or higher end Sony samsungs then no.

Black Friday weekend focused on bargains at cheaper end of market and I'd envisage boxing day will be the same.

What size are you after, what's the budget?

The sales tend to start before Boxing day nowadays. Especially online.

Then buy now.

Manufactures will set a bottom limit on what their sets can be sold for. A set that sold for 1500 quid 3 years ago will probably have bottomed out by now, so it won't go any lower. A mid tier set from last year might drop a few hundred quid to 500 quid. All depends on how many units were produced to how many units were sold.

Manufactures looking to gain a market share will slash prices hard to garner interest. Take HiSense as an example. They dropped a 65" 4k curved from 1700 to 1100. It's a marketing ploy to get their name spread in Europe...

Sales are not for your benefit, remember that.
