Im looking to buy a DLP projector soon. I am initially swaying towards the Screenplay 5700 at £2200 as I have seen the picture from this projector and I loved it. However, I will be hooking it up to an HTPC and therefore thought it would be beneficial to have a hi-def projector (possibly using the HD2+ chip).

The problem is these projectors are generally in the region of £5000, a bit out my price range. Is it likely that good quality hi-def DLP projectors will fall below £3000 in the near future or should I just go for the 5700?

you could look at the 7200 - extra res does help with HTPC

though a recent purchaer of a 7200 (peter123) was annoyed by its noise.

Prices will always drop, if you can wait 12 months, i guess you may be OK.
