Is it worth upgrading to Internet Explorer 8?

Hi guys/gals,

I am already using Internet Explorer but I don't know which one. Is it a good idea to upgrade to IE8 or are there any pitfalls to look out for?

Your advice would be great.

Thanks

Sorry cannot comment on IE8 but have you tried Google Chrome? I've been using for the past 5 months and find it excellent.

Unless you're running any ad-ons the only thing you need to watch out for is the usual overzelous security software and IE8 has been out for a while so that should all have been updated by now.

I would recommend Mozilla Firefox.
as would i. firefox had many useful features long before internet explorer had them (like tabbed browsing, or so i remember). plus, firefox has some good addons to improve performance and flexibility....i don't think IE has. still this is just one man's opinion :D

Yeah, but if you're going for features then you might as well go for one of the fully featured browsers like Opera or Maxthon. (both of which had all the features of firefox before it even came out). Firefox does have the biggest database of extentions though so if some of the more specialised ones are useful to you then it's worth a look.
