Is it worth me investing in a system or separates?

...in an all-in-one system eg DHTs500 if I need a DVD recorder?
I put up a similar post a few days ago but didn't really get a solution.

I have about £500 to spend and was going for an all-in-one but I need a DVD recorder (because I don't have Sky+).

Can anyone recommend a system that incorparates a DVD recorder?

Or should I buy separates for my £500? And if so, I'd really appreciate recommendations. I'd prefer discreet speakers whatever I get or I'll be in trouble with the boss.

    many thanks in advance, Calva

the only way you will get an amp speakers and dvd recored + cables for £500 is if your talking really low budget low end stuff. and quite frankly it wont be much cop. to get a decent setup ypud be looking at a panny E55 dvd recorder, denon 1705 amp and maybe some Tannoy Fx 5.1's. this would be a decent starter setup but i think it will be more along the lines af £6-700. alot of brands are incorporating dvd recorders into AIO's like panny, jvc & sony. last time i checked they were well above £500
