System comprises Audiolab 8000p and 8000c amps, Monitor Audio PMC 703 speakers. Kef 30B sub is next to right speaker, there is room for a second sub next to left speaker. is it worth picking one up form e bay or somewhere or would it make little difference to sound?

I would say you would be better getting a better sub than a second one

    Nick,
I'm currently toying with the same idea and after alot of reading and word of mouth
it seems to me that adding a second sub on to the centre speaker via LFE & hi-level
is a good idea, while using the 1st sub for the .1 LFE effects.
According to the MJ acoustic site in order to gain a true "cinema reference sound"
it helps if every speaker channel has a sub attached via the hi level feed.
    Hope this helps.

Alternatively you could put the subs on the left and right mains, with sub set to none, and LFE routed to mains....
