I currently have a Panasonic TH-42PV500 + SONY DAV-S880. Would i notice much difference when playing DVD's if i were to invest in say, the New Denon HDMI player for £250  .

    Thanks for your time

as a rule of thumb, if you have good kit already you are unlikely to notice a huge difference, with cheaper kit there may be benefits, emphasis on 'may' though, all down to how it is done not the interface itself. If you currently use a component connection then the merits are MORE likely o be 'minimal' but there are loads of other advantages, lack of cables etc etc with HDMI.
