Hi,

I am considering getting one of these for my 37" Evesham LCD

I have read some of the previous threads regarding this problem but most seem to be about the normal brackets and not the extendable one I am thinking of. The only problem is they have to be mounted onto plasterboard. Is this wise / possible? I imagine the force being but onto the plasterboard will be much greater once the arm is extended, will I be left with no wall or TV??:thumbsdow

Can anyone out there point me in the right direct I should go?

Thanks in advance

An extending mount like that will need an extremely good fixing. No way it's going to work with fixings into plasterboard. If the studwork is timber and you can get a good fixing to that it may be possible. Even so I'd want to know how well the studwork had been put up.

please dont put that bracket on plaster board.i dont put tvs on plaster board with a flat bracket let alone a pull out one,and a mount on plaster board should have a large back plate to help spread the load.try and find a baton behind the wall and mount to that.if it is not in the ideal place then you may wish to board out the back of the wall.its more work but at least you will be able
to sleep at night and if you ever get a bigger tv then you know its going to mount much easier.good luck:smashin:
