    As title.
The best video connection my amp has is S-Video which I am feeding via a 10 metre S-Video lead to a ceiling mounted projector (better S-Video than composite), but I will also need a digital output from the X-Box for proper 5.1 surround sound, otherwise I will have to use a 2 channel audio phono connection and use DPL2 on the amp instead

Thanks mate, I can see some on Ebay now :)
What's the deal with getting HD out of the X-Box by the way? Is it a case of just using a HD game and a Component connection?

Hidef can only be enabled when the xbox has been modded (softmod/modchip), this allows you to region switch the xbox (make the xbox think it is american!!!! Poor thing.... :p :p :p). When it thinks it is american then you can run a progressive component signal out of the xbox, drastically improving the picture quality.

Thanks for the info on the lead Gag, I ordered it from them via PayPal :)

Regarding Hi Def again, does the box upscale from 480/576 to a Hi Def resolution then?

A modified xbox allows games to run in hidef widescreen formats. These are 480p 720p and 1080i. The resolution you get depends on the game. Comparing hidef component Halo 2 and scart Halo 2 was a no-brainer. The component connection will make the picture look much better, even if the reolution isnt much higher.

Thats not to say its bad though! Far from it, I would still be happy to play on Svideo/scart I think.

I'll stick with the S-video lead that's running above the ceiling then :)

It arrived through the post today and it does indeed have an SP-Dif socket, but it also has a sticker on the packaging saying"Enhanced NTSC S-Video AV Pack (US, Japan)". Hopefully this means that it is not for NTSC use only as my X-Box is an un-modded region 2.

Don't worry about it. I bought this exact lead before I modded my XBox and PAL seems to work perfectly. My lead also reads NTSC; must be an import.

I think I spent more money on the Optical and SVideo leads
