    1080i = high defininition
    720p = high defininition
    480p = standard definition

    Very little difference between 1080i and 720p, just depends on your tv set really, try experimenting with both and see which you prefer

    I would agree with the above,

    As you have HDTV, stay away from 480p as it won't do your 360 justice.
    Whether to plump for 720p or 1080i really does depend on the TV.
    Try both and see which one you like best (although you may not notice much difference)
    My previous Sharp 32'' LCD definitely displayed a better picture with 720. However, i currently have a 42'' Hitachi plasma and it likes 1080i much better.

    Hope this helps...

    Set the console to the native display of your panel.

    I have a 32" Samsung and to be hnest I notice very little difference between 720p and 1080i.

    Use 1080i though

    I would have thought if theres very little in it that 720 would be better for being progressive scan, thus no interlacing taking place?

    I have used both 720p and 1080i and my eyes seen to find 1080i a little bit better only on the dash board. No big difference via games.

    Using a 27" Bush HD LCD and 1080i looks a little nicer to me. Not a massive difference, but a bit smoother round the edges.

    if the native resolution of your TV is 720 then go for 720 as almost all xbox games render in this resolution and there won't be any scaling at all...

    If your screen is one of the new fangled 1080P screens then it might be best to go with 1080I although this will cut your framerate down by half (from 60fps to 30fps)... try both in this case and see which upscales best, your xbox or the TV....
