Is DVD-RP91 still the best at US$500?

I'm in the market for a Panasonic DVD-RP91K, which still is not in stock yet at places that sell for < $500. But as soon as it comes in, I'm considering getting it. Also, I will be getting the mod kit for region decoding.

My question... is it still the best progressive player out there for around $500? I don't play DVD-Audio, but must have MP3, CD-R, and CD-RW read capability on the new player.

    Thanks a bunch!

    My HT setup:
    Sony KV-36XBR450 36" TV
    Pioneer Elite VSX-09TX receiver
Infinity Overture 3 front, OVTR-1 surround, OVTR 3-CC center

I have the same TV. I have an RP91 and also have a Sony 9000ES and a Malata N996 too, the Panasonic has the best pic of the lot. Does the RP91 play MP-3? I don't do MP-3 since I'm an MD user so this has never come up for me. I hope you can find a RP91. Best wishes!
