Hi,
Yesterday i purchased an audica cs-sub8 from my local hi fi shop for £180. I tried it in the shop and compared it with a £350 rel quake. I couldnt tell a huge difference between them both other than the fact that this one was much larger.

I was just wondering if audica is any good as i can not find a lot on the net about them. Also does anyone have this subwoofer or know anything about it.

The system i am using it with is.

b&w 602 s3 fronts
pioneer sp-40 rears
Marantz sr4200 Receiver
Marantz dv4100 DVD player
Marantz cd63 CD player
Samsung le26r41bx TV

Thanks

I think Audica make some nice looking affordable speakers but would never be first choice for performance.

It just depends on what's important to you!

ooh, something i can answer! :D

Yeah I have this sub, i got it cheap from the hifi show at manchester airport.

To be fair to it, it's not too bad at all.

It doesn't go particularly deep, though it sounds pretty good (to me anyway)

I don't have anything to compare it to so i can't recommend it over anything else. Though you say you didn't notice much difference between it and the quake which seems to be quite highly regarded, in the media anyway.

I too have an Audica CS1 and I love the system.

The sound quality beats the KEF 2005.2 in my opinion, tighter sound, better treble, more impressive bass and excellent integration.

The sound stage is more than wide enough at the front, so if you have a corner situated plasma, the CS1 has to be the best 5.1 system on the market, which can also be fully upgraded to 6.1 or 7.1.
