Whilst I wouldn't want to criticise picture quality too much - although artefacts are apparent - my disc 1 looks single layered.
Is this the case for others.
    My copy is Region 2.
If they are all single layered, does anyone have a player that reveals bitrate?

It's definately dual-layered, you can see the layer change during the film on my old-ish DVD player!

I would imagine all full length movies will be dual layered these days.

A lot of the new style disc's do look silver, but they are indeed dual-layer.

My AOTC R1 disc looks silver, but there's a layer change, after Jango Fett comes out of hyper-drive going towards Geonosis. When the layer switches, it then cuts to Obi Wan also coming out of hyper-drive.

I think I was thrown by the 'silver' appearance - still, given some of the artefacts, particularly at the end, I am still curious about the bit rate.

The bit average is around 4 - 5Mbps - going up to 9 - 9.5Mbps on heavy action scenes.

I do see slight artefacts on the red of the walls at the beginning in the charncellors office. Also when Obi Wan is being questioned by Dooku.

I didn't notice any on the battle scenes though.
