Just read a little bit about Play.com Live that's happening 15th/16th March at Wembley Stadium.

I've just booked my VIP Ticket for £16, and was just wondering if any AVF'ers are attending?

According to the synopsis on the site:

I'm assuming that £16 covers both days, if so 8 quid a day ain't too bad.

Yep, it's a weekend ticket. It's £9 for the one-day ticket. They're estimating 30-40,000 gamers to attend. I'm just wondering whereabouts the stadium it's going to be held.

It's alright for me, because I can get to and from London easily, but I understand that not everyone can get there for both Saturday and Sunday.

There's a bit more news over at GameSpotUK.

Sony have now added their name to the list of backers for this event,
    News Article here

    Which now makes it:

    Sony
    Microsoft
    Ubisoft
    Activision
    and
    THQ

Who knows if companies like EA, Rockstar or even (and I really can't see it happening) Nintendo decide to show up to show off their latest products?

Yep me, my wife and a couple of friends are all travelling up for this. Sounds like it's gonna be awesome. :D

Was originally worried by the lack of publicity but the gaming press are starting to write about it (like in your links) and the tickets are now at no. 38 in Plays "game" top sellers.

By the looks of things, I'm gonna be on my own for the 2 days, as a few of my friends "forgot" to book their VIP tickets.

It's a bit weird to see that Play.com are selling some tickets for certain times of the day.

I'm not sure if a VIP ticket makes a real difference, but at least it gets you in the stadium.

    "Full Day" tickets:

    Here's Saturday

    and

    Here's Sunday

It only costs about £18 for both days, which is only £2 more than a VIP ticket.

Afraid not, I can understand your disappointment, but I'm the complete opposite with me the only VIP and all my friends "in the cheap seats".

:DMy friends will be clapping their hands, whereas me, I'll be rattling my jewellery.:D

I've only just noticed a few of the games that are to be shown on their site and i'm now looking forward to the event.

Rock Band will be awesome and i hope SONY come up trumps and show maybe the likes of PlayTV ect

I may have to order two half day tickets as 4 hours may not be enough for me

I'll be honest and say that when this was first announced, it sounded like it would be a flop but it looks like i'll be proved wrong

Has everyone received their tickets yet??

My bro ordered ours ages ago, and this is what he mailed me this morning:

"Unbelievable - just rang Play and woman said that tickets havent come in
and that we'll probably get refund?!?!?!? Eh? I said about that I've had to
book train tickets worth £60 to go to it and she said there's nothing much
we can do about that, can only refund the event tickets, told her to get
    manager to ring me back...

Then I thought I'd ring back and got another woman who actually rang head
office and they said they are not being sent until next week, just hope
they get sent out on time then!"

He has come back since and said the manager told him the tickets will defo be sent out this week...

Surely they should have sent the tickets out now since the event is next week

    Hi all,

I also called their customer service centre and spoke to a supervisor by chance. She told me that the tickets were being dispatched from 10th March, this was to reduce the likelyhood of visitors misplacing tickets before the event.

    roll on Monday!

I hope so as a nice 'surprise' but I dont think even gaming journalists have played those games yet so maybe little chance of us getting a look in.

I hope they have some special offers for consoles and games, I'm hoping to bag a PS3 if there is a good deal....
