    Hi,

As per title, I currently have an Alpha 10 for 2 channel and a Yamaha DSP E800 to power centre and rears, as well as acting as a surround processor. Any views as to whether an upgrade to an AVR300 would compromise music playback? I'm fully aware that home theatre would be superior with the AVR 300.

    Regards

I do suggest you ge a demo. Arcam strength lies in its music playback in DIRECT mode (make sure you connect you sources through the analog RCA. The Arcam is great in HT, but in stereo its just fantastic. I am not experienced with the DSP-E800 but I had a yamaha receiver before the arcam, and there really is no comparision.
