I was, given a clip on fans product for the back of my Xbox 360 for Christmas 2006, but the clip on fans product only lasted 3 months.

Therefore, all I would say is one of the, clip on fans product is not worth it, but when it did not work it did not cool any better, and it also made my Xbox 360 even louder.

I personally don't think it is. Just keep the 360 is a well-ventilated place and don't put it in any enclosures.

My 360 has always been in a closed cabinet and I've never had any problems with it over heating. My 360 is quite noisy, so maybe I have better fans on mine :D

I was wondering the other day of the practicalities of rehousing the gubbings inside the 360 into a PC case, anyone know of peole who have done this?

If you need to pay extra for a fan to cool the 360 your 360 isn't working probably. Why pay extra money to cool something that should be able to cool itself. Return it as faulty.

it doesnt cost a lot to get one and its not going to hurt it. I've had one on mine for the last few months and it makes me feel better.

Apparently there have been reports of these external cooling devices having adversarial effects on 360's.
