    I feel terrible.

A mate wanted an mp3 player for Christmas and I recommended iriver. he is now angry with me because he paid to download a track off the internet (this is how he will get most of his music, he owns less than 20 CD's) and it wont play on the iriver.

He says hes done some research and apparently the iriver will not play protected content. Is this really true? because if it is, he has bought a very expensive door stop. On my recommendation (he got the h340).

There are 2 ways around this - so all is not lost! :suicide:
Your mate is right, you cannot copy direct to it- but you can record via the soundcard out direct to the I-rivers line in - or copy the track to a CD (copyright permitting of course) then copy to the player as WMA - simple! :lesson:
