ir blaster patch lead??

Hi, just wondering if there is a lead (1/8"-1/8") to connect my hdmi sender to my tv card or if I have to convert the signal to ir and then back again?

I have looked on eBay and maplin but can't find anything.

Getting conflicting information on the internet (surprise). Some say it's 1/8" (3.1mm) some say 3.5mm others say 2.5mm I will check when l get home (looks smaller than 3.5mm)

I have found a TiVo lead on eBay that has an inline chip. Is the chip required or can I just get a lead when I have figured out what size it needs to be?
