"Like the iPod Shuffle, the Mini will gain Flash storage in place of the hard drive, though its capacity will not be reduced. Instead, it will be relaunched in 4GB, 6GB and 8GB versions."

Roll on an 8GB+ flash player with the form of the Sony NW-E507 !!!

The new mini is supposed to have the flash chips bought from samsung, because there are no moving parts in them, they will not skip so will be great for running and physical activity, moreover....because there is no moving parts the battery life will be increased.

Because the chips are smaller than the hard drive they are reducing the overall size of the player, so that ther is not a cavity inside it, and apple are supposed to be implimenting a colour screen, which could compromise the battery life

Batt tech is always improving. Apple will release the new player with batt life at the ver least the same as current, if not better

that is if the rumours are true
