I've recently bought a 512MB iPod Shuffle to run with and I'm having real problems keeping the earphones from falling out all the time  ... Can anyone recommend some decent quality replacements that will stay put..?

Surely someone must have some information about this ! I'm afraid I can't help as I never use the in-ear type headphones with my iPod as I really don't like any I've ever tried.

    Simon,

You posted in wrong forum am afraid, there is one thread dedicated for headphones, where you definitely get lot of replies.

I recommend Shure E2C. I've same 512mb shuffle with E2C, which have excellent sound quality. Won't fall off from ear even if you dance or jump!!

A8 are very good phones but aren't the best fit for my ears. Sound very good and I look COOL wearing them :) More £ than your / my shuffle :)

MX550 In ear sens are my pick of the traditional in ear stuff, stay in better in my ears butas above I might not have standard ears :0 I prefer them on shuffle to MX500 due to better bass and alround better sound.

Etymotic 6i get wedged into the ears. Work well, very well, but block many external noises out, are not to everyones taste and although very entertaining aren't stictly neutral.

I often use PX250 noise cancelling phones which I like, especially on trains, the PX 100 / 200 are tradition style of phones and are very decent quality.

I fancy trying those Stax electostaic mobiles but a bit bigger than shuffles :)

In you current financial state look at the MX550 or sell some more R2 Jpn. :D 21 grams :)

Nic, having looked at pictures of these earphones, I think I need the 'over-the-ear' type like the Sony MDR-EX81SL or the B & O A8's you recommended... Do you, or anyone else for that matter have any experience of these two and are there any others with a similar design worth considering..? Are the A8's worth spending an extra £50 just for running with..? I'm happy with the sound from the Shuffle earphones, it's just the fit that's the issue...

The A8 sound great and look a million dollars, perhaps the best I have seen in an earphone outside of top Stax but I find them tiring to wear. I am SURE it is me who is at fault here though, not the phones.

I don't know the Sony. There is another similar look make as well, someone link to it a month or two ago here. Can't remember it's name though.

This iPod Shuffle is a waste of time for running, I've used it twice and I've turned it on today to find it crackling between tracks and humming over playback... Not impressed, it's going in the bin  ...

You've got a dodgy one. I've been using mine at the gym and while running and the unit is fine.... if looking slightly less aesthetically pleasing!!
